Tomatoes of the "Datterino" variety are delicious, sweet and creamy. It allows you to feel the freshness and rich flavor of freshly picked datterino tomatoes. It is an ideal choice and can be used directly in hot and cold appetizers or Velouté sauces, as well as pasta, meat or seafood dishes.

The difference between the red "datterino" tomato and other tomato varieties is its elongated "date" berries. The Così Com'è red datterino has a high sweetness, nearly twice that of the classic tomato variety, has an intense flavor and extremely thin skin, with a bright red color. This type of tomato has a certain consistency, so it can be stored for a longer time after harvest.

Così Com'è (Meaning “as they are”) tomatoes come from Fianagricola, was founded in 1986 by a small 24-farm cooperative dedicated to cultivating local produce varieties. Nine members currently manage the 740 acres of farmland, which stretches across the fertile Piana del Sele of Campania in southern Italy. The cooperative was founded with one mission: to guarantee a pure, traceable Italian product, from seed to label. All tomatoes are non-GMO and free of preservatives, pesticides, sugar, and stabilizers.

Although we like to use Così Com’è tomatoes to make fresh sauces for our pasta, like our "penne alla salsiccia e pomodoro", we could honestly drink them straight out of the jar! “I have a jar at my house all the time,” says Vincenzo Coppola, owner of Gusto Italiano. “they’re so sweet and fresh tasting.”
